What are natural dyes/natural pigments?
Natural dyes/natural pigments produce an extraordinary diversity of rich and complex colours. Natural dyes/natural pigments from plants may also have many of compounds and their composition ratio varies with soil type and the weather. Natural dyes/natural pigments are vastly superior to synthetic ones. Because of unstable and inconsistent factors, instead of industrial dyeing production, natural dyeing/printing processes are applied by industry of hand-craft.
Why does Be Be Cotton involve in mass production?
No synthetic dye/pigment has the luster of rich colour, delicious aromatic smell, and soft light shadow that gives so much pleasure to the eyes. Besides that, the lack of clean water resource & the issue of eco-friendly force us to face the damage by applying synthetic dyeing/printing processes positively. Although the use of natural dyeing/pigment materials in textile colouring is an old and well-known way of utilizing and regenerating waste raw materials, the development of mass production concerns about technical, economic, and ecological requirements of the 21st Century. Based on requirements of the textile chemical dyeing industry, precise solutions were developed and established for making natural dyes applicable for industrial textile dyeing operations.
Pros and Cons
(Pros)
(1)Natural Dyeing/Pigment Printing Fabrics are less toxic than synthetic counterparts.
(2)Dyes or Pigments are obtained from renewable sources.
(3)Dyeing waste does not have disposal problems since they are biodegradable.
(4)They are pure and harmonized with nature.
(5)Washing fastness is at least level of 3/4; rubbing fastness is at least level of 3/4.
(Cons)
(1)Natural dyes/pigment are cost effective.
(2)Lighting fastness is poor.
(3)Consistency is an issue because no two dye lots are identical due to the impurity.
(4)Some mordant used along with natural dyes may be toxic. Aluminum is safer to use though entirely not nontoxic.
